You can meet placement requirements in one of three ways.
Placement testing is the most common way to meet placement requirements. Tests are completed online and available 24/7 without the need for a proctor. Our math faculty will consider your results, your transcripts, and your input to best place you in a math level to achieve academic success. Placement testing must be done before confirming your intent to enroll, which consists of accepting your offer of admission and paying the $150 non-refundable tuition deposit. To gain access to the placement tests, register through your Applicant Dashboard.
Coursework completed at another institution or through dual enrollment may exempt you from all or parts of placement testing. Send your official transcript(s) to the Admissions Office and our Registrar's Office will evaluate to determine equivalency to see if you qualify.
Meet the guidelines and you could be exempt from parts of placement testing. Just make sure you have your scores sent to Penn College directly from the College Board or ACT using this code: 2989. Scores are valid for the academic year in which the exams were taken and for the following two academic years.

Placement into your first-semester courses will be based on your current skill level. You’ll be notified via email of your placement results with instructions for how to review and proceed.
